For a quarter of century, Solar Co., Ltd. has been supplying various contemporary sealants that meet the needs in the industry based upon a philosophy of “Challenge to the possibility by technical improvement”.
Japanese sealants have been evolved in accordance with the change of finish paint types and operation circumstances.
Artificial rubber type sealants had been mainly used before the 1980s when the lacquer paints were in the main stream. However, it had a drawback of substantial volume reduction after curing.
Thereafter, acrylic-urethane paints had appeared in the industry in the 1980s, when Solar started to sell urethane resin type sealant and then in the 1990s, Solar had developed modified silicone resin type sealant when quick-drying acrylic-urethane paints and 2K urethane paints appeared. In the 21st century, solar started to sell Non-solvent type sealants which do not contain volatile organic compound and are environment sustainable consequently.
Since urethane resin type sealants appeared in the industry, curing mechanism of absorbing moisture has been in the main stream and since then moisture control
and the preparation of production surrounding circumstance have become the most important factors in the production of sealants. In this sense, Solar has completed the most suitable production surrounding environment under excellent air conditioning, and equipped with automatic analytical component. Therefore,
Solar is enjoying supply to our clients the most stable quality products under superior quality control system.
Selecting which sealant to apply depends on paint types ( room temperature dry type, heat hardening type, powdery type) surface conditions of foundation and on cost performance.
Other than auto body use, heat resistant and heat curing type sealant is also sold for powdery paint application. As a contemporary counter measure to waste reduction, we are offering a product design applying aluminum laminated tube packing.

Through a quarter of century operation since the commencement of sealant production,
Solar ’s Sealant has been sold to and used in the body repair shops in groups, subsidiary and contracting repair shops of all the Japanese car manufacturing firms including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Matsuda, Isuzu, Daihatsu, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Subaru and so on. Also bus and lorry manufacturers including Hino, J-bus and Mitsubishi Fuso have been long using our Sealants.
